What is Planes?
A military article publishes the smallest plane division at 125,000,000 money, 200,000 daily upkeep, and 20,000 manpower. A later unit comparison left those costs unpublished, so treat the figures as the last printed breakdown rather than a confirmed current tooltip. Planes outperform artillery, press down the blue city-defense bar, and can attack other unit types. Anti-aircraft is documented as able to destroy them, and only missile launchers and battleships are otherwise named as able to attack planes.

How do you get Planes?
Research the air technology, then spawn from a capital airport. If the capital falls and you have no other airport, you cannot replace planes.
How do you use Planes?
Bring planes against a city sitting at defense X, and against battleships. A tips walkthrough treats three or four planes as enough to shred divisions that are capturing your land. They cannot be spawned from an occupied city.
